Though, following the last year's Tecno Spark 5, the latest model of the Tecno Spark series ought to be called Spark 6, but Tecno choose to name the phone Spark 7 instead.
Like the Tecno Spark 5 (KD7h), Tecno Spark 7 is also an entry-level smartphone, and it's available in two variants. While the base variant (PR651H) retain the 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage of the earlier model, the standard variant (KF6i) offers a slightly higher RAM of 3GB and twice storage space of 64GB .

Though the latest phone also has an 8MP front camera like the Spark 5, but instead of 13-megapixel Quad back camera, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel Dual back camera.
It should be recalled that the Pro version of the Spark 5, i.e., Tecno Spark 5 Pro (KD7) has the same 16-megapixel primary back camera.
Also like the Spark 5 Pro, Tecno Spark 7 is powered by the Helio A25 CPU; which is slightly better than the Helio A22 that's inside Spark 5.
Tecno Spark 7 also retain the 5000mAh battery that came with Tecno Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro. Also like the two phones, Tecno Spark 7 does not support fast charging.

Note: in some regions, Tecno Spark 7 comes  with higher battery capacity of 6000mAh.

However, unlike the earlier phones, Tecno Spark 7 is running on the latest Android 11 OS with the latest Tecno HiOS custom UI on top. The back cover and camera module of the Spark 7 also look more attractive than those of the earlier phones.

Furthermore, the display of the latest Spark 7 is a hair smaller than those of its predecessors. In other words, instead of having a bigger 6.82-inch display like its more equipped brother, Tecno Spark 7P (KF7J), or maintaining the 6.6-inch display of the Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro, Tecno Spark 7 spots a 6.52-inch display. Though the screen is still an IPS-LCD panel and it also features 720p resolution like those of the earlier phones, but the screen of the Spark 7 sports a drop-notch instead of Dot-in (hole-punch) like those of its predecessors.

By the way, it should be recalled that the year 2019 Tecno Spark 4 (KC8) features the same 6.52-inch drop-notch display, which also means Tecno Spark 7 comes in size and looks of the older phone, but as i said earlier, the back of the Spark 7 looks more appealing than those of the previous models.

Except for the few ones, mentioned above, other aspects of the latest phone remain as those of the earlier models. For instance, the latest Spark also has a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and a microUSB port. Others like SIM cards slot, 3.5mm audio jack, power button and volume rockers are also located in the usual positions. However, the speaker grille is missing on the bottom edge of the Spark 7 phone, because the phone doesn't have a bottom-firing speaker. Instead, the single speaker of the phone is located directly above the front camera.

Price And Design Colours:
Tecno Spark 7 is available in 3 colour options of Magnet Black, Morpheus Blue and Spruce Green. And while the base model of the Spark 7, i.e., 2GB/32GB (kf6j) variant, costs about 72,000 Naira, the price of the standard or 3GB/64GB (kf6i) variant is around 76,500 Naira.

Slightly Smaller Drop-Notched Display:
Though as i mentioned earlier, the display of the Spark 7 is slightly smaller than that of the earlier Spark 5. Yet, in spite of its smaller size, the 6.52-inch Drop-notch display of the Spark 7 (like that of the older Spark 4), also features the same 20:9 aspect ratio and the same 1600x720 resolution like the 6.6-inch Dot-in display of the Spark 5. Still, as a result of its slightly smaller size, the screen of the Spark 7 has a little higher pixel density of 269ppi, compared to the 265ppi of the Spark 5 display.

Better Looking Back Cover:
Apart from having a Drop-notched display, another thing that distinguishes Spark 7 design from those of the earlier models is its better looking back cover. This phone sports a more attractive camera module, and it also has a huge Spark branding engraved on the back cover. This branding occupies half of the lower left part of the back cover.

Also instead of glossy finish, the back cover of this phone has a non-reflective or matte finish. Though this type of back cover doesn't attract fingerprints and smudges like the glossy (reflective) ones.
Still, due to this non-reflective surface, the back cover of the Spark 7 would've looked plain, if not for the presence of the huge Spark branding.

Almost The Same Camera As The Earlier Models:
Though, Tecno return the same 8-megapixel front-facing camera, that accompanied Spark 5 (and previous models of the Spark phones) to the Spark 7. But unlike the Spark 5 that has a quad-lens back camera, Tecno Spark 7 comes with a dual-lens back camera. Still the primary back camera of the Spark 7 is fitted with a 16-megapixel sensor which is higher than the 13-megapixel primary back camera of the Spark 5.
Meanwhile the second camera on the back of the Spark 7 consists of a QVGA or AI sensor; and it assist the primary camera taking brighter pictures in low light conditions.

Both the front and back cameras of the Tecno Spark 7 are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps (frame per second).
Unfortunately, however, it's only the camera of the 3GB/64GB variant of the Tecno Spark 7 that's capable of shooting Slow-Motion videos at 120fps. And it's only this variant that also features Video Bokeh; which allows you to blur video background thereby causing the subject(s) (of the video) to look more enhanced or appear more focused

Hardare And Software:
Tecno equipped Spark 7 with a slightly faster processor than it predecessor. Because the latest phone is fitted with the MediaTek Helio A25 processor which is better than Helio A22 that powered the older Spark 4 and the earlier Spark 5. Though Helio A25 is also a 12nm Cortex-A53 entry-level processor like the Helio A22. It even has a lower maximum clock speed of 1.8Ghz, compared to the 2.0Ghz of the Helio A22. Still Helio A25 offers a slightly faster processing power than the Helio A22 because it's an octa-core processor, while Helio A22 is a quad-core processor.
Despite their different processors, Tecno Spark 7 still features the same PowerVR GE8320 GPU (Graphics Processing Units) as the Spark 5.

On the audio aspect, Tecno Spark 7 features Bluetooth Audio Share 2.0, which enables you to share music with your friends and loved ones. However, this feature is only available on the 3GB/64GB variant of the Spark 7. Nonetheless, don't expect much from the audio or sound output of this phone, because its speaker is not placed on the bottom edge as expected, instead, it's located and embedded in the top edge of the phone's display, directly above the selfie camera.

Meanwhile, Tecno Spark 7 is running on the latest Android 11 OS (Operating System) with the recent Tecno HiOS 7.5 custom UI on top. But due to its lower RAM, it seems the 2GB/32GB variant of this phone is running on the Go Edition (the light version) of the Android OS while the 3GB/64B variant of the phone is running on the full version of the OS.
And whether standard or base variant, irrespective of your choice, the internal storage capacties of both variants of the Tecno Spark 7 are expandable, via microSD card, up to 256GB.

Spark 7 Offers The Same Battery Capacity As The Previous Models:
Tecno Spark 7 packed the same battery capacity as its predecessors. In other words, and like the earlier Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro, Tecno Spark 7 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery. Even the better equipped Tecno Spark 7P, with its ample 6.82-inch screen, still has the same 5000mA battery.
However, like those earlier phones and the new Tecno Spark 7P, Tecno Spark 7 doesn't support fast charging. As a result, it'll take you about 4 hours to fully charge this phone from 1 per cent.
