At an affordable price, Itel A60 present the buyers with an attractive design, a large and pretty display, big battery and support for 4G networks. But, those are the main selling points of this phone, because the rest of its features are like those of other cheap android phones.

Itel A60 (A662L) is the latest model of the Itel A series; and the successor to the Itel A58 Pro. Though Itel A60 has the same screen size, RAM and storage capacity as the Itel A58 Pro, but the latest phone wear a more attractive design and has a better looking display. The phone also comes with a bigger battery, upgraded rear camera and it supports 4G networks.
In other words, and unlike its predecessor, Itel A60 present the buyers with an array of features that normally accompanied the more expensive entry-level phones.

Design-wise, Itel A60 wear a more prettier looks than its predecessor. And it's also looks more prettier and sleeker than most of others in this segment. The phone's prettier and sleeker looks is as a result of its slimmer screen bezels, flat edges, and premium-looking camera module. The slimmer screen bezels, in turn, also enable the phone to have an higher screen-to-body ratio than most of the competitions.

Also despite having the same 6.6-inch screen size, the same 720p resolution and the same tear-drop notch as that of the Itel A58 Pro, the screen of the Itel A60 offers a more clearer picture and richer colours. In fact, This screen look more attractive than most of others' in this segment. Also, as i mentioned earlier, Itel A60 supports 4G LTE networks. This phone also comes, out-of-the-box, with recent Android 12 (Go Edition) OS.

Yet, in spite of those selling points, Itel A60 still maintain most of the regular features of other low-budget android phones. For instance, Itel A60 comes with 2GB of RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, and a big 5000mAh battery.

Unfortunately, Itel A60 has two major weaknesses; processing power and camera system. Because this phone is powered by a low-end Unisoc SC9832E processor. And it's also fitted with an 8-megapixel dual rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

Briefly, i'd say the photos taken with this phone cameras are of low quality, but they look okay for a phone at this price point. So, if you're the type of person that likes to pay attention to photo details, Itel A60 is not meant for you. But If you're the type of person that doesn't care much about the qualities of photos, you would be fine with the photos taken with this phone.

And on the second issue, i.e., processing power. The Unisoc SC9832E that's inside Itel A60 is another low-tier Quad-core CPU, just like the one on the Itel A58 Pro. As a result, and with a more recent Android OS, Itel A60 was unable to move quickly, even when it comes to regular tasks such as internet browsing. And it becomes more sluggish under heavier tasks. So this phone is suitable for light and basic tasks.

The rest of the Itel A60 features are similar to those of others in this segment. Because the phone features the usual MicroUSB port, single bottom-firing speaker, rear-mounted fingerprint reader, and 3.5mm audio jack. But it should be noted that Itel A60 does not support USB OTG.

Price And Design Colours:
The current price of the Itel A60 is about 50,000 naira. And it's available in three colour options of Daylight Green, Dawn Blue, and Sapphire Black.

VERDICT:
Itel A60 is all about beautiful looks, beautiful display, support for 4G networks, and recent software.
But those things come at the expense of low quality camera and weak chipset.

Two Other Contenders:
At a slightly higher price, Redmi A1 Plus was able to take a much nice looking photos, despite the fact that it has the same camera set-up as the Itel phone. The Redmi phone also packed a more stronger chipset.
Although, Redmi A1 Plus has a slightly smaller screen size of 6.52-inch, compared to the 6.6-inch screen of the Itel A60, yet, the picture quality is almost the same as that of the Itel phone, if not better.
And despite having the same 5,000mAh battery as the Itel A60, Redmi A1 Plus offers a standard 10W charging. Redmi A1 Plus also has a better built quality. But, talking about the looks and novelty, Redmi A1 Plus is no match for the Itel A60.

Also at a slightly higher price than that of the Itel A60, Itel S18 offers a much better selfie lens, a faster and octa-core CPU, and twice storage space. Yet, the rest of the Itel S18 features are still exactly like those of the Itel A60.

DESIGN: Itel A60 Is A Premium Looking Phone:
Though, due to the same screen size and an identical drop notch, the front of the Itel A60 looks exactly like those of the earlier Itel A58, A58 Pro, and Itel P38 (P661W), and most of other cheap phones.
But, while most of them have curved edges, Itel A60 has flat edges. And this enables the phone to have a slightly slimmer bezels, higher screen-to-body ratio, and sleeker looks than many of them

Also contributed to the looks of the Itel A60 is its pretty, large, and glassy rectangular camera bump; inside of which the phone's fingerprint reader, LED Flash, dual rear camera are neatly arranged.

Meanwhile, except for the fact that Itel A60 has its 3.5mm audio jack placed on the top edge, other ports and buttons of the phone are found at the regular spots.

You have the power button and volume keys on the right edge, while the dual-nano 4G SIM+microSD card slot is located the left edge.
You only have mouthpiece, MicroUSB port, and mono speaker on the bottom edge of the Itel A60. Because as i said earlier, the phone's 3.5mm audio jack is located on the top edge.

Manageable Camera:
Even, for a budget android phone, photos taken with the 8-megapixel dual rear camera of the Itel A60 are neither sharp nor clear, they are just okay or moderately clear. The photos also appear to be over processed and have saturated colours. And just like the rear camera's photos, the selfies from the 5-megapixel front-facing camera of the Itel A60 are moderately clear and bright, but they also lack focus and sharpness.

So, as i said earlier, if you're in the market for a cheap android phone with decent camera, Itel A60 is not meant for you. You should add small money and go for either Redmi A1 Plus or Itel S18.
By the way, both the front and rear cameras of the Itel A60 are only capable of shooting 720p videos at 30fps (frame per second).

Impressive Display:
In recent years, and in term of picture qualities, the displays of the Itel phones are getting better. For instance, the display of the last year's Itel P38 was slightly clearer and brighter than that of the prior Itel P37 (p651w), still the colours on the P38 display are not really good enough, compared to those of other more expensive entry-level phones.

But while maintaining the same 6.6-inch screen size and the same 1612x720 resolution as those of the Itel P38 and Itel A58 Pro, the screen of the Itel A60 offers a more realistic colours. In other words, and in term of colour reproduction, the screen of the Itel A60 looks really nice, for a low-end phone.
Even, the picture quality of this screen rivals those of other slightly more expensive phones such as the Tecno Pop 7 Pro. And when it comes to outdoor usage, the screen of the Itel A60 is moderately clear, and bright enough to use under direct sunlight.

Weak Processing Power:
While maintaining the 2GB of RAM of its predecessor, Itel A60 is running on a more-recent Android 12 (Go Edition) OS, and it also has a different Unisoc processor, called SC9832E.
Unlike the Unisoc SC7731E that came with the earlier Itel A58, A58 Pro and Itel P38, Unisoc SC9832E (of the Itel A60) is a 4G-enabled processor. However, this chipset is also an old low-tier chipset like the Unisoc SC7731E.

In details, the Unisoc SC9832E is a 28nm 1.4Ghz Quad-core CPU, while the earlier Unisoc SC7731E is a 32nm 1.3Ghz Quad-core CPU. As a result, and in terms of performance, there's no much difference between Itel A60 and the previous Itel phones.
In other words, the processing speed of the Itel A60 is on the slow side too. It takes a little longer time, than necessary, for this phone to even perform simple tasks such as opening of internet browser. And opening of slightly heavier Apps or playing light games, requires a little patience.
By the way, the 32GB internal storage capacity of the Itel A60 can be expanded, via microSD Card, up to 128GB.

Stronger Battery, But Same Slow Charging Rate:
Though Itel A60 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery; which is stronger than the 4,000mAh battery of its predecessor (A58 Pro). But the latest phone's 5000mAh battery is not uncommon among other low-end android phones. And while the likes of the Redmi A1 Plus and Itel S18, with the same battery capacity, support 10W charging, Itel A60 features a slower 5W charging.
And with its out-of-the-box 5W charger, it'll take you close to four hours thirty minutes to fully charge this phone's battery when its drops to one per-cent.
