Following the last year's Tecno Spark 5, the latest model of the Tecno Spark series ought to be referred to as Spark 6, but Tecno chose to name the latest phone Spark 7.
Like the Tecno Spark 5 (KD7h), Tecno Spark 7 is also an entry-level smartphone, and the base variant of this phone also has 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. While the standard variant of the phone offers a slightly higher RAM of 3GB and twice storage capacity of 64GB .

Though the latest phone also has an 8MP selfie camera like the Spark 5, but while the back of the Spark 5 was fitted with a 13MP quad-lens camera, that of the latest is mounted with a 16MP dual-lens camera.
Apart from having an higher megapixel primary back camera, Tecno Spark 7 is also powered by the Helio A25 processor, which is slightly better than the Helio A22 that came with Spark 5.
It should be recalled that it's the same 16MP main rear camera and the same Helio A25 processor that came with the more equipped Tecno Spark 5 Pro (KD7).

Yet, higher than the 5000mAh batteries of both Tecno Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro, Tecno Spark 7 is fitted with a 6000mAh battery, yet, like its predecessors, the phone still lack support for fast charging.
Also, unlike both of the earlier phones, Tecno Spark 7 is running on the latest Android 11 OS with the latest Tecno HiOS custom UI on top of it. The back cover and camera module of the Spark 7 also look more attractive than those of the earlier phones.

However, the display of the Tecno Spark 7 is a hair smaller than those of its predecessors. In other words, instead of having a bigger 6.82-inch display like its more equipped brother, Tecno Spark 7P (KF7J), or maintaining the 6.6-inch display of the Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro, Tecno Spark 7 spots a 6.52-inch display. Though this screen still features an IPS-LCD panel and 720p resolution like those of the previous models. Besides its smaller size, the display of the Spark 7 also sport a drop-notch instead of a hole-punch (Dot-in) like those of the earlier phones.

It should also be remembered that the year 2019 Tecno Spark 4 (KC8) features the same 6.52-inch drop-notch display, which also means Tecno Spark 7 comes in size and looks of the older phone, but as i said earlier, the back of the Spark 7 looks more appealing than those of the previous models.

Except for those few upgrades or new features that Spark 7 brings, other aspect of the latest phone remain as those of the earlier models. For instance, Tecno Spark 7 also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and a microUSB port. And other features such as SIM cards slot, 3.5mm audio jack, power button and volume rockers are also located in the usual positions. But the speaker grille is missing on the bottom edge of the Spark 7 phone, because the phone doesn't have a bottom-firing speaker.

Price And Design Colours:
Tecno Spark 7 is available in 3 colour options of Magnet Black, Morpheus Blue and Spruce Green. And while the base model of the Spark 7, i.e., 2GB/32GB (kf6j) variant, costs about 52,400 Naira, the price of the standard or 3GB/64GB (kf6i) variant is around 58,000 Naira.

Design, Display And Back Cover:
Though as i mentioned earlier, the display of the Spark 7 is slightly smaller than that of the earlier Spark 5. Yet, in spite of its lower size, the 6.52-inch Drop-notch display of the Spark 7 (like that of the older Spark 4), also features 20:9 aspect ratio and 1600x720 resolution like the 6.6-inch Dot-in display of the Spark 5. But compared to that of the Spark 5, the display of the Spark 7 has a slightly higher pixel density of 269ppi, which is due to its smaller size.

Still, one thing that really distinguish Spark 7 design, from those of the earlier models, is its better looking back cover. Apart from having a more attractive camera module, Spark 7 also has a huge Spark branding engraved on its back. This branding occupies half of the lower left part of the back cover.
And like its predecessors and most of other entry-level and midrange smartphones, the chassis and back cover of the Spark 7 are made of plastic, but the back cover of the phone has a non-reflective or matte finish. Though this type of back cover doesn't attract fingerprints and smudges like the glossy (reflective) ones.
Still, due to this non-reflective surface, the back cover of the Spark 7 would've looked plain, if not for the presence of the huge Spark branding.

Almost The Same Camera As The Earlier Models:
Though, Tecno return the same 8-megapixel front-facing camera, that accompanied Spark 5 (and previous models of the Spark phones) to the Spark 7. But unlike the Spark 5 that has a quad-lens back camera, Tecno Spark 7 comes with a dual-lens back camera. Still the primary back camera of the Spark 7 is fitted with a 16-megapixel sensor which is higher than the 13-megapixel primary back camera of the Spark 5.
Meanwhile the second camera on the back of the Spark 7 consists of a QVGA or AI sensor, and it's meant for taking brighter pictures in low light conditions.

Both the front and back cameras of the Tecno Spark 7 are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps (frame per second).
Unfortunately, however, it's only the camera of the 3GB/64GB variant of the Tecno Spark 7 that's capable of shooting Slow-Motion videos at 120fps. And it's only this variant that also features Video Bokeh; which allows you to blur video background thereby causing the subject(s) (of the video) to look more enhanced or appear more focused

Hardare And Software:
Tecno equipped Spark 7 with a slightly faster processor than it predecessor. Because the latest phone is fitted with the MediaTek Helio A25 processor which is better than Helio A22 that powered the older Spark 4 and the earlier Spark 5. Though Helio A25 is also a 12nm Cortex-A53 entry-level processor like the Helio A22. It even has a lower maximum clock speed of 1.8Ghz, compared to the 2.0Ghz of the Helio A22. Still Helio A25 offers a slightly faster processing power than the Helio A22 because it's an octa-core processor, while Helio A22 is a quad-core processor.
Despite their different processors, Tecno Spark 7 still features the same PowerVR GE8320 GPU (Graphics Processing Units) as the Spark 5.

On the audio aspect, Tecno Spark 7 features Bluetooth Audio Share 2.0, which enables you to share music with your friends and loved ones. However, this feature is only available on the 3GB/64GB variant of the Spark 7. Nonetheless, don't expect much from the audio or sound output of this phone, because its speaker is not placed on the bottom edge as expected, instead, it's located and embedded in the top edge of the phone's display, directly above the selfie camera.

Meanwhile, Tecno Spark 7 is running on the latest Android 11 OS (Operating System) with the recent Tecno HiOS 7.5 custom UI on top of it. But due to its lower RAM, it seems the 2GB/32GB variant of this phone is running on the Go Edition (the light version) of the Android OS while the 3GB/64B variant of the phone is running on the full version of the OS.
And whether standard or base variant, irrespective of your choice, the internal storage capacties of both variants of the Tecno Spark 7 are expandable, via microSD card, up to 256GB.

Spark 7 Offers Higher Battery Capacity Than The Previous Sparks:
Despite having smaller screen size than them, Tecno Spark 7 packed an higher battery capacity than its predecessors. In other words, this phone is equipped with a 6000mAh battery; which is higher than the 5000mAh battery of the Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro. Even the latest Tecno Spark 7P, with its ample 6.82inch screen, is still fitted with the same 5000mA battery like the earlier models.
However, like its bigger brother (Spark 7P) and the earlier models, Tecno Spark doesn't support fast charging, as a result, it'll take you about 4 hours to fully charge this phone from 1 per cent.
