One would have thought Samsung will name its latest Galaxy phone S11 (being the successor of the Galaxy S10), but the company settled for S20 instead. Therefore, the trio of the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are the latest model of the Samsung Galaxy phones, and they are also successors to the last year's Galaxy S10 phones.

However, among the latest Galaxy phones, there is no successor for the Galaxy S10e; i.e., the affordable variant of the Galaxy S10 phones. Perhaps, this is why Samsung introduced Galaxy S10 Lite (along the Note 10 Lite) about two months ago.
Because Galaxy S10 Lite is another affordable variant of the Galaxy S10, just like the Galaxy S10e, but! it shares look with the latest Galaxy S20, rather than with the Galaxy S10.

As expected of the latest model of the Samsung Galaxy phones, Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are top of the line smartphones with impressive and latest bells and whistles specs such as the latest Qualcomm SD865 chipset, 12GB of RAM, bigger and improved Dynamic Amoled 2X displays (with 120Hz refresh rate), upgraded cameras (that support 8K video recording) and bigger battery capacities. Also, all the three Galaxy phones are 5G enabled. Though, some regions still have option of Galaxy S20 variant with only 4G (LTE), but these variant come 8GB of RAM.

As premium flagship smartphones, Galaxy S20 phones attract higher price tags. The starting price (for the 16GB+128GB ROM variants) of the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra is $999 (£899), $1,999 (£999) and $1,399 (£1,199) respectively. While the high-end variant of the Galaxy S20 Ultra i.e., the one of 16GB RAM and 512 ROM, costs about $1,599 (£1,399). For the 4G (LTE) variant of the Samsung Galaxy S20, the starting price is £799 (not available in US)

Meanwhile, below are some the necessary features of the previous Galaxy S10 phones that are missing in the latest phones:

The dual front camera, found on the earlier Galaxy S10 Plus and S10 5G, is missing on the latest Galaxy phones.

The variable (dual) aperture lens, introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S9, is missing in all the latest Galaxy phones.

The traditional 3.5mm audio jack is also missing on the new Galaxy phones.

Samsung's Bixby button is also missing on the new phones.

Refreshing Look, Big Camera Bump:
Though, compared to those of the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10 5G, the latest Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are fitted with bigger screen sizes of 6.2-inch, 6.7-inch and 6.9-inch respectively.

They also come with a few modifications such as the hole-punch repositioning and the implementation of rectangular back camera bumps. But due to their 151.7x69.1x7.9mm, 161.9x73.7x7.8mm, and 166.9x76.0x8.8mm dimensions, the new phones still have almost the same body sizes as the Galaxy S10, S10 plus and S10 5G, though their bodies appear slightly narrower.

In details, the front parts of the latest phones still look like those of the earlier models, but the hole-punches have been moved to the top-centre of the screens and the holes have also become smaller. Samsung has also managed to reduced the latest phones' top and bottom bezels to an extent.

In addition to the thinner bezels, the traditional edge-to-edge display of the Samsung Galaxy phones has also been trimmed, thereby making the new phones to appear more compact.

And it is these slight alterations that aid the new phones to have almost the same body dimensions as the earlier models despite their bigger displays. But the new phones look slightly narrower; which is due to their 20:9 screen aspect ratio, compared to the 19:9 aspect of the earlier models.

And by the way, the duo of Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus feature 10-MP selfie lens like the earlier ones, while the Galaxy S20 Ultra is equipped with higher 40-MP front camera. Aside from that, all the three phones' front facing cameras also come with slightly bigger sensors.

Flip it them over, you'll be confronted with the camera modules that are quite different from those of the earlier Galaxy phones.

First introduced in its recent Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite, Samsung joined the likes of Google (in its Pixel 4) and Apple (in its iPhone 11) in implementing the rectangular back camera module in its new Galaxy phones, and each of the new phones camera bump also has different rectangular shapes.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S20 features triple-lens back camera like its predecessor, while the Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra packed Quad-lens back camera instead.

As usual, each of the latest phones features aluminum metal frame, embedded in-between two glasses, and they are also IP68 water resistant certified like the earlier models.
Also from the the given dimensions (above) and their respective 163g, 188g and 222g weight, Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are also lighter than their predecessors, but they have almost the same thicknesses as the earlier phones.
Apart from the ones mentioned above, another subtle thing that differentiate the latest phones fron the year 2018 and 2019 models is the repositioning of the volume and power buttons.

Both the volume rockers and power button of the new Samsung Galaxy phones are now placed on their right edges, like those of many smartphones. But it should be noted that the Samsung Virtual Assistant button i.e., Bixby Button, is missing on the new phones.

On the bottom of edge are the usual USB-C port, microphone and stereo speakers. There is nothing on the left edges of the new phones, you will also find only Hybrid SIM slot on the top edges because the traditional 3.5mm audio jack is missing on the new phones.

Both Samsung S20 and S20 Plus comes in different colours options of Cosmic Grey, Cloud Blue, Aura Red and Cloud White. In addition to those ones, Galaxy S20 still has another colour option of Cosmic Black. On the other hand, Galaxy S20 Ultra comes in only two colours options of Cosmic Black and Cosmic Grey.

Hardware And Software:
Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra are running on the Android 10 O.S. (Operating System) alongside Samsung One UI 2.0; both of which are already introduced in the recent Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite.

But unlike the Galaxy S10 Lite that still features Qualcomm SD855 Chipset like the last year's premium Galaxy phones, all the three new phones are powered by the latest and more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Though as usual, the latest Galaxy phones with this type of processor are meant for the U.S. and China markets.

On the other hand, Europe and other parts of the world, will be having the latest Samsung's own Exynos 990 chipset in their Galaxy S20 phones.
And while the Qualcomm SD865 chipset comes with Adreno 650 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), Exynos 990 chipset is equipped with Mali-G77 MP11 GPU.

In addition to their powerful processors, Samsung also equipped each of the phones with a whooping 12GB of RAM. Yet, there is another variant of the Galaxy S20 Ultra that's fitted with a much higher 16GB of RAM and 512GB internal storage.

And speaking of their internal storage capacities, the latest phones in-built storage configurations are also similar to those of the earlier models, except that the Galaxy S20 Plus comes with more storage options than the other two latest phones.
In details, while the Galaxy S20 comes with only 128GB internal storage capacity, Galaxy S20 Plus comes with three internal storage options of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. On the other hand, Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with two internal storage options of either 128GB or 256GB (in addition to the 16GB RAM/512GB storage variant mentioned above).

Nonetheless, and irrespective of your choice, the internal storage space of the new phones can be expanded, because all of them support microSD Cards of up to 1TB (Terabyte).

It should be noted that the 4G (LTE) variant of the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus (available in UK and some other regions) are fitted with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The 4G variant of the Galaxy S20 Ultra offers higher RAM and storage space than those of the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus.

Upgraded Cameras:
Like i mentioned earlier, both Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus are fitted with 10-MP (f/2.2) front-facing camera lens, while the S20 Ultra is mounted with a higher 40-MP (f/2.2) selfie lens. Unlike in the previous phones, however, none of the new Galaxy phones has dual-lens front camera.

Among three new Samsung Galaxy phones, Galaxy S20 is the only one that has triple-lens back camera, while the other two phones, i.e., Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra, comes with Quad (four) lens back camera each.

The triple back camera of the Galaxy S20 comprises of 12-MP (f/1.8) Wide-angle lens, 12-MP(f/2.2) Ultra-Wide-angle lens and 64-MP (f/2.0) Telephoto lens.
The above camera specs shows that, though, the latest phone features the same 12-MP Wide-angle lens as the previous one, but the variable (dual) aperture has been replaced with a single (f/1.8) aperture in the new phone.

Also the 16-MP Ultra-Wide-Angle lens of the previous phone has been replaced with a slightly lower 12-MP lens in the new phone. However, the Telephoto lens has been upgraded from the previous 12-MP to a much higher 64-MP, and it also offers a better 3X Optical Hybrid Zoom and 30X Digital Zoom.

Yet, all the back cameras of the latest phones come with higher pixel sizes (microns) and bigger sensors. All these indicates that the new Galaxy phones camera will deliver better picture qualities than those of their predecessors.

And for the Galaxy S20 Plus quad-lens back camera set-up, the first three back camera configurations are similar to those of the Galaxy S20. While the fourth camera is made up of DepthVision (Time of Flight) lens.

Concerning the Quad-lens back camera of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, the ultra premium Galaxy phone comes with a much more higher 108-MP (f/1.8) Wide Angle lens. But the phone has the same 12-MP (f/2.2) Ultra-Wide angle camera, like its two siblings, it's even fitted with slightly lower 48-MP (f/3.5) Telephoto lens.

But, despite having lower megapixels than that of the other two phones, the Telephoto lens of the Galaxy S20 Ultra offers a much higher 10X Optical Hybrid Zoom and 100X Digital Zoom.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 Ultra's fourth camera is also fitted with the Time of Flight lens, like that of the Galaxy S20 Plus.
Samsung introduces many interesting camera features to the new Galaxy phones, one of these is the Single Take mode; which allows you to take pictures or shoot videos at the same time with different lenses. The latest Samsung Galaxy phones also has ability to shoot 8K video, though, at 24fps (frame per seconds)

120Hz Dynamic Amoled X2 Displays:
Compared to their predecessors, the latest Galaxy phones come with bigger 6.2-inch, 6.7-inch and 6.9-inch displays.

Also compared to the 19:9 screen aspect ratio of the previous phones, the latest phones' displays feature 20:9 aspect ratio; which, apart from making them appear narrower, it also make them to have a slightly different screen resolution 3200x1440 (compared to the 3040x1440 pixels of the previous phones).

And as a result of their different screen sizes but same resolution, Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra displays have different pixel densities of 563ppi, 525ppi and 511ppi respectively.

Furthermore, the new Galaxy phones' displays are also fitted with an upgraded Dynamic Amoled panel, which Samsung calls Dynamic Amoled 2X Infinity-O Display, and it's also HDR10+ certified.

Furthermore, and higher than the 90Hz refresh rate displays of OnePlus 7 Pro and Google Pixel 4, Samsung Dynamic Amoled X2 Infinity-O Display also comes with 120Hz refesh rate (and 240Hz touch sensing refresh rate) like that of the Asus ROG Phone 2.

Compare to your smartphone's standard 60Hz display, higher refresh rate display enables your gaming and page scrolling to become smoother. It's also helps the fonts or texts to become clearer, and smoother also.
But the 120Hz mode can only be used when the screen resolution is set to FHD+ (2300x1080); which is the default or out-of-the-box resolution for the Samsung Galaxy phones' displays.

Bigger Battery Capacities:
Considering their bigger, higher refresh rate displays and powerful processing power, Samsung equipped Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra with higher battery capacities of 4000mAh, 4500mAh and 5000mAh respectively.

And all the three phones support up to 25W fast charging and 15W Wireless charging, and each of them also comes with 25W chargers..
Samsung Mobile also return its Wireless PowerShare feature to all the latest phones. PowerShare allows you to charge your Qi-enabled devices by placing them on the back of your Samsung Galaxy phones.
