Being a mid-range smartphone, Vivo S1 design is similar to those of many other recent smartphones in the market. Nonetheless, the new phone still has a look and attributes of a flagship phone. For instance, the Vivo S1 features a dedicated Google Assistant Button, and the back of the phone is made of a sparkling material that radiates a few shades of colours.

The new phone also features a stunning Super Amoled display, though this type of screen is known to be easier on the battery lives, yet, Vivo still equipped the S1 with a sufficient 4,500mAh battery.
Furthermore, the new Vivo S1 is fitted with a 32MP AI-powered front camera. But, if you're not impressed by picture qualities of the shots, taking with the selfie camera, the Vivo S1 Main back camera, which features Sony IMX499 lens, guarantees detailed photos with an impressive picture qualities.

Furthermore, Vivo S1 also features In-display fingerprint reader. And if not the first, Vivo is one of the few phone brands to introduce In-display fingerprint reader, and the company continues to improve in that area. Therefore, you should expect a more responsive In-display fingerprint sensor from the Vivo S1. Although, the new phone is powered by the Mediatek Processor, it's the latest Helio P65 CPU, which delivers a much faster processing power.

In conclusion, except for its lack of the USB Type-C, Vivo S1 is equipped with most of the specs that are often found in the flagship phones, and considering its price too, in relation to other phones in its segments, Vivo S1 is a highly recommended mid-range phone.

Vivo S1 Design and Features:
The 6.38-inch Super Amoled, bezel-less display of the new Vivo S1 features dewdrop notch. And the notch, as usual, houses the new phone's 32 megapixels AI-powered selfie camera. And because of the implementation of the screen-notch, there is no Notification LED on the front of the Vivo S1, instead, the new phone features Screen Flash. Meanwhile, the Vivo S1 In-display fingerprint reader can be located towards the bottom of the phone's screen, close to the Chin or bottom bezel.
Furthermore, the backing of the phone is made of a sparkling material that emits shades of radiant colours; the concept that's sometimes comes with the flagship phones. Vivo called the dedicated button, on the left edge of the new phone, Smart Button and it also referred to as the Google Assistant Button because it's still use in activating Google Virtual Assistant.

Close to the dedicated Smart Button is the Hybrid SIM tray. The top edge of the phone is free from any slot or port, and as expected, the volume rockers and the power button are found on the right edge of the phone. Meanwhile, on the buttom edge is the speaker grille, Micro USB port and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

Although Vivos1 is slightly on the heavy side, as a result of its 179.5g weight, nevertheless, with its 8.13mm thickness, the new Vivo S1 is one of the flattest smartphone around .
Vivo S1 comes in Skyline Blue and Diamond Black colours. The starting price of the Vivo S1 in India is Rs 17,990, i.e. over 91,000 Naira and about $254 (US).

Vivo S1 Super AMOLED Display:
The 6.38-inch waterdrop-notch display of the Vivo S1 is equipped with a Full HD+ (2340x1080) resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Therefore, the Super Amoled display of the phone along with the screen high pixel density of 404ppi, ensure a more realistic and detailed 1080p movies playback and an immersive gaming experience. Furthermore, the Super Amoled display of the Vivo S1 also features Always On Display. Barely consuming power, Always On Display gives you opportunity to glance at your message alerts or check the time, while the phone screen is still off.

Performance and Storage:
The new Vivos1 is running on the latest Mediatek Helio P65 CPU, a 12nm Octa-Core processor, which has the clock speeds of up to 2.0GHz. And for its GPU (Graphics Processing Units), Vivo S1 features the ARM Mali-G52.
Meanwhile, the new phone either comes with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB storage space or 6GB of RAM and 128GB in-built storage. Irrespective of your choice, the new phone still comes with a microSD slot, which means the Vivo S1 internal storage can be expanded, through microSD Card of up to 256GB.

Software, Voice Commands and Jovi Smarter AI:
Concerning its Operating System, the new Vivo S1 is running on the company's Funtouch 9.0 and the Android 9.0. (Pie).
While pressing Vivo S1 dedicated Smart Button once, gives you a quick access to the Google Assistant, Vivo S1 also features a series of customized Voice Commands which allow you to use your voice to operate the new phone through the Google Assistant. For instance, you can search for a particular photo in your picture gallery or activate a particular app, all you need to do is speak the word(s).
Apart from the dedicated Smart button, Vivo also unveiled Jovi Smarter AI in the new S1. The Jovi Smarter AI is an AI-powered Virtual Assistant, which is similar to the Google virtual Assistance and the Samsung's Bixby, but it's specifically customized for the Vivo.

inside the dewdrop notch of the Vivo S1 is a 32-megapixel selfie camera; which guarantees a sharper and accurate selfie pictures. The higher megapixels lens, with the help of the screen flash, also delivers a more detailed and brighter low-light selfies. Meanwhile, the new phone selfie camera features the usual AI-enable Selfie picture enhancements features such as AI Face Beauty, AI Selfie Lighting and AR Sticker, to mention a few.

The new phone's triple back camera is made up of the 16MP, 8MP and 2MP. The first 16 megapixels lens is the Main camera, and it features Sony IMX499 sensor; which delivers a sharper and more vivid pictures. The next 8-megapixels camera has an Ultra-Wide-Angle lens which has an ability to capture 120 degree field of view i.e. it allows you to capture more of your friends, in a group photo, without moving backwards. The last 2-megapixels camera features telephoto lens which is meant for the depth-of-field pictures.

Despite having many interesting features, Vivo also equipped S1 more than enough battery capacity. Because the phone is fitted with a non-removable 4,500mAh battery, and the company also equipped the phone with its own quick charging feature called 18W Dual Engine Fast charging technology.
