Although Itel P55 4G or Itel P55 (A666L) wear the same looks and offers the same features as the competitions, it attract lower price.
And speaking of its design, Itel P55 is a nice looking phone. It has a  6.6-inch 90hz hole-punch display and sports a semi-glossy finish. The back of the phone is also mounted with a pretty camera bump; which looks like that of an iPhone.

However, apart from fact that the design is common among most of the recent phones, the screen size (and attributes) is also what you get on the competitions. Though the one on the Itel phone looks more appealing.
And concerning its camera set-up. There's an 8-megapixel sensor on the front of the P55 and a 50-megapixel dual sensor on its back. As a result of its high megapixel main camera, photos taken with the P55 are noticeably clear and detailed. They also look vibrant. Selfies taken with the phone also look good.

Under the hood. Itel P55 is powered by Unisoc T606 processor, and it's running on Android 13 (Go Edition) OS. P55 is also equipped with 4GB of RAM; which is expandable to 12GB, through RAM Virtualization or MemFusion. The 4GB of RAM of the phone is paired with 128GB internal storage space. Which can also be expanded, via microSD card.

Itel P55 handles day to day usage without issue. It is responsive and jumps in between apps without delay. Even, when it comes to moderately demanding tasks such as internet browsing, online video streaming and related ones, Itel P55 maintain consistence smooth operation. But the phone doesn't have enough power to handle graphics demanding games. In other words, PP5 is not a gaming phone.

And concerning other features of the Itel P55. They are exactly like those of other budget phones. Because P55 comes with a single bottom-firing speaker, USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. It is also powered by a 5,000mAh battery and support 18W fast charging.

As i said before, it's easier to found all the features of the P55 on other budget phones in this segment. For instance, Infinix Hot 40i (X6528B) wear the same looks and pack the same features as the Itel P55. Even the Infinix phone offers higher megapixel front-facing camera. But the Infinix and others with similar features attract slightly higher price than the P55.

Note: It should be noted that except for the Itel P55 Plus (P663L) twice amount of RAM, faster charging and better design, there's no other difference better the Plus model and the standard P55.

Price And Design Colours:
Itel P55 is available in different colour options of Aurora Blue, Brilliant Gold, Moonlit Black, and Starry Purple. And the phone's current is around 125,000 naira.

Design: P55 Features Familiar Sleek Looks:
Itel P55 has flat edges, flat back cover, and a squared shape rear camera bump that looks like that of an iPhone. Virtually all the recent budget phones wear this looks. In fact, except for "Design by Itel POWER" inscription on the back of the phone, there's is no other way to tell P55 apart from a few other competing budget phones. And if you prefer a budget phone that wears a more distinct looks, i'd say you should go for the Itel P55 Plus, especially the Royal Green variant. The design looks more refreshing.

Meanwhile, Itel P55 has a semi-glossy finish. And the arrangements of ports and buttons on the phone are similar to those of other budget phones. On the right edge of the phone are volume keys and power button; which also doubles as a fingerprint reader. While the phone's 4G dual nano-SIM plus microSD card slot (and tray) is located on the left edge. There's nothing on the top edge of the P55, because its 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB Type-C port and the single speaker, are placed on the bottom edge.

Nice Looking Photos:
Though Itel P55 couldn't maintain consistent nice-looking shots, because some times you need good lighting conditions to get better results. Still, and generally speaking, for a phone at this price point, photos taken with the P55 are remarkable.
They are impressively vivid, clear and moderately detailed. Colour representation also look good. They (colours) are moderately saturated and skin tone looks okay. Selfies from the A55 also look good. They are bright and clear. Skin tone and colour representation also look pleasant.

But as i mentioned earlier, and as result of its higher megapixel front-facing camera, Infinix Hot 40i was able to deliver a more detailed selfies than the Itel P55. Still other picture qualities (of the 40i) remain as those of the Itel phone. Even, compared to the ones taken with the slightly more expensive P55 Plus, i prefer the selfies from the standard P55.
If you don't prioritize processing power, P55 is one of the affordable budget phones that have decent camera and nice-looking display. In fact, the quality of the shots (from the P55) is almost the same as the ones taken with the Tecno Spark 20 and Samsung Galaxy A05.
Meanwhile, the front and rear camera of the Itel P55 can only shoot videos up to 1080p at 30fps. And there's no Image Stabilization.
`
Nice Looking Display:
Itel P55 has a 6.6-inch, 1612x720, hole-punch display. Which, as i said, is also what you get on most phones at this price point. And the screen also features 90hz or high screen refresh rate (for smoother page scrolling, swiping and gaming).
Nonetheless, where the screen of this Itel slightly outshines those of others is in aspect of vibrancy or clarity. In other words, and despite that sharpness or resolution remain the same, the screen of the Itel phone is more vibrant and appears a little clearer. As a result it's a little easier to see and use under direct sunlight, compared to the competitions.

Nonetheless, the peak brightness of the Itel P55 display is not up to those of the Galaxy A05 or Redmi 13C. Yet the colour reproduction of this Itel screen is almost the same as the two phones.
So, if display is one of your priorities, the one on the P55 looks decent. In fact, i prefer this screen to that of the more expensive Spark 20. Though the one on the Hot 40i also came close.

By the way, in addition to its high refresh rate, the screen of the Itel P55 also has 120hz Touch Sampling rate. This feature enables the screen of the P55 to be more sensitive or more responsive to the touch.
Furthermore, the screen of this Itel phone can also be customized to look like that of an iPhone through Smart Dynamic Bar. By toggle On Dynamic Bar in the phone's display settings, the circular front-facing camera spot will be transformed to a cylindrical or pill-shape cut-out; which looks like the Dynamic Island on the recent iPhones. Afterwards, some of your notifications will start to show inside the Dynamic Bar.

Performance And Software:
As i said earlier, Itel P55 doesn't have enough power to handle graphics demanding games. Because the Unisoc T606, that's inside the phone, is an entry-level octa-core chipset. It's the same processor that's inside the Hot 40i and the cheaper Tecno Pop 8 and Infinix Smart 8. This is why P55 is also running on the Go Edition (light version) of the Android 13 OS like those phones. Nonetheless, P55 can still play few of such demanding games, but you'll have to reduce graphics settings and frame rates to minimal. To ensure smoothness.

If you'd prefer another budget phone that packs beefier processing power, i'd say you should go for the Galaxy A05. But, at this price point, it's the base variant of the Galaxy phone you'll settle for. And it's equipped with half of the internal storage space of the Itel P55.

Battery Capacity:
As i said earlier, and like other regular budget phones, Itel P55 features 5,000mAh battery and support 18W fast charging. So, despite that P55 belongs to the Itel Mobile's Power (P) series, it has a regular battery. And if you would have preferred a more stronger battery, go for the slightly cheaper Itel P40 Plus. Itel P40 Plus also has a bigger display, in addition to its bigger 7,000mAh battery. Yet it has the same CPU, RAM and storage configurations as the P55, but it's fitted with a lower megapixel rear camera.
Meanwhile, Itel P55 comes with an 18W charger in the box. And with its charger, it'll take about one hour fifty minutes to fully charge Itel P55 battery from zero percent.
