Infinix Note 12 is the latest model of the Infinix Note series, and it's the successor to the Infinix Note 11. Infinix Note 12 is available in six variants. And these are Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G, Infinix Note 12 Pro, Infinix Note 12 VIP (X672), Infinix Note 12 G96 (X670), standard Infinix Note 12 (X663) or Note 12 G88, and Infinix Note 12i (X6819).

However, this review do not cover Infinix Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro 5G. Because both of them are almost the same as the Note 12 VIP, except for the fact the two phones are equipped with better CPUs and slightly stronger batteries. Also the Note 12 Pro 5G support 5G networks, as the name suggested.
Still, out of all the Note 12 variants, including Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro 5G, Note 12 VIP is the one with the highest fast charging.
Also, it should be noted that none of the Note 12 variants comes with X-Pen; which is the essence of the Infinix Mobility's Note series.

Meanwhile, as the name implied, Infinix Note 12 VIP is the most equipped and the most expensive one among the four (selected) variants of the Note 12. While the least expensive or least equipped one is the Note 12i.
On the other hand, Infinix Note 12 G96 and the standard Note 12 have a lot in common. In fact, the main five things that distinguish Note 12 G96 from the standard Note 12 are its recent Android OS, better CPU, higher RAM, higher storage capacity, and different camera bump. Except for those ones, all other attributes of the Infinix Note 12 G96, including design and camera set-up, are exactly like those of the Note 12.

Their Current Price:
Currently, the price of the Note 12 VIP is about 235,000 naira. While those of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12 are 159,000 naira and 143,000 naira respectively. The least equipped Note 12i attract the lowest price of about 120,000 naira.

Design Of The Four Phones:
Firstly, Infinix Note 12 G96 And Standard Note 12 Design:
Talking about their designs. And starting from the Infinix Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12. Because, as i said earlier, these two phones have a lot in common.
Basically, Infinix Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12 look exactly like the previous Infinix Note 11 (X663). Apart from having the same form factor (size and shape) as the earlier Note, both of the new phones also sport the same clear-cut, all-flat appearance.

Each of them also features an identical 6.7-inch U-shaped notched displays as the Note 11. Both displays also come with AMOLED panels and feature the same 1080p resolutions. Also like the one on the earlier Note, none of these screens support 90hz (or high screen) refresh rate.

infinix-note-12-g96--x670-vs-infinix-note-12-g88-x663.

However, the two phones have different rear camera bumps; which make their backs to look slightly different. While the standard Note 12 retain the camera module of the Note 11 (which makes the back of this phone to looks exactly like that of the earlier Note), Note 12 G96, on the other hand, comes with a distinct camera module. Yet, the camera module on the Note 12 G96 still resembles that of the least equipped Note 12i.

Except for their different camera modules, every other visible attributes of the Infinix Note 12 G96 and those of the standard Note 12 (which are also similar to those the earlier Note 11) are exactly alike. Even, in addition to those ones that i mentioned earlier, both of the new phones also feature 50-megapixel triple rear cameras, 16-megapixel front-facing cameras, side mounted fingerprint readers, dual speakers, USB Type-C ports, 5,000mAh batteries, and 33W fast charging. Just like the earlier Note 11.

Infinix Note 12 VIP Design:
Though Infinix Note 12 VIP also comes in form factor (size and shape) of the Note 12 G96 and Note 12, and it also has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, however this phone looks slightly different, more premium, and classier than the two phones.

Firstly, the 6.7-AMOLED display of the Note 12 VIP sports a hole-punch camera or Infinity-O, unlike those of other two phones that have U-shaped notches. The display of the Note 12 VIP also support an high screen refresh rate of 120hz.
This premium phone also sport a thinner screen bezels and flatter edges. The phone edges, or rims, are also made of aluminum, unlike those of others that are made of plastic.

Also while the back covers of the two earlier phones are made of the usual plastic, the back cover of the Note 12 VIP is made of high quality polycarbonate plastic (or glastic) material, which Infinix called Fibreglass. Infinix Note 12 VIP also has a better build quality, it's flatter, and feel much more premium than other two phones. The cleqar-cut and all-flat appearance of the phone also reflect precision.

Though Note 12 VIP also features a triple-lens rear camera like its siblings, but the camera bump on the phone looks more premium and classy. The Main rear sensor of the Note 12 VIP has a much larger ring or circular module, and the other two sensors are arranged in a different (or horizontal) manner.
Also compared to the 50-megapixel main rear camera of the other two phones, Infinix Note 12 VIP has a much higher 108-megapixel main rear sensor. Nonetheless, the phone is still fitted with a 16-megapixel selfie lens like the others.

In addition to those ones, Note 12 VIP also comes with two microphones and support a much higher, and impressive, 120W fast charging.
However, the 5,000mAh batteries on the Note 12 G96 and Note 12 G88 have been downgraded to 4,500mAh on the VIP.
Still, like the other two, Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with a side mounted fingerprint reader, dual speaker, and USB Type-C port.

Infinix Note 12i DESIGN:
Lastly, Infinix Note 12i. Despite that it's the least expensive and least equipped one among them, Infinix Note 12i is the biggest of all the four phones.
Sporting a bigger 6.82-inch display, Infinix Note 12 has a similar clear-cut and all-flat design of other three. However, this phone has a taller aspect ratio. Which makes the phone to be slightly slender (apart from being bigger) than its siblings.

It's also the only one, among them, that features IPS-LCD screen and 720p resolution. Yet, the display of this phone also has a camera cut-out or Infinity-O like that of the Note 12 VIP. Also like the most equipped phone, Infinix Note 12i support an high screen refresh rate (unlike the Note 12 G96 and Note 12). But instead of having 120hz like that of the VIP, the screen of the Note 12i comes with 90hz.

infinix-note-12-VIP-x672.

The rear camera bump on the Note 12i looks different from those of the VIP and G88. Yet, as i said earlier, the rer camera bump looks like that of the Note 12 G96 and that of another Infinix phone, Infinix Hot 12. In fact, if not for its 50-megapixel Main rear camera; which the phone shared with its siblings i.e., Note 12 G96 and Note 12, Note 12i would have been the same phone as the Infinix Hot 12, both in and out.

Because, despite having the same 50-megapixel rear sensor as the Note 12 G96 and Note 12, Note 12i is fitted with a lower 8-megapixel selfie lens. Also compared to the 33W fast charging of those two phones, Note 12i comes with a lower 18W fast charging. Nonetheless, the phone retain the 5000mAh battery, USB Type-C port, dual speaker, and side-mounted fingerprint of its siblings.

They all have a large rectangular shape bumps on their backs:
In summary, and irrespective of the shape of their camera modules, all the four phones have something in common; they all come with a large rectangular-shape bumps. The bumps ocuppy the entire upper parts of their back covers. And their various camera modules are placed inside these rectangular bumps.

Good Cameras:
The shots from the 16-megapixel front-facing cameras of the Infinix Note 12, Note 12 G96, even that of the Note 12 VIP, have some things in common, they're clear and sharp, but not detail. These selfies also tend to be on the bright side, though not over-blown or over-exposed. Colours also look okay and normal, neither warm nor pale.

The same thing can be said of the front-facing camera of the Infinix Note 12i. Because in spite of its lower 8-megapixel sensor, the least equipped model was able to maintain (to an extent) the same photo qualities of its siblings. For instance, an compared to most of others phones with such an 8-megapixel sensor, Note 12i front-facing camera was able to take a slightly clearer and detail seflies. The selfies also have good colours, neither saturated nor over-blown or washed out.

Talking about their back cameras, and starting from those of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12. For me, i'd say the picture qualities of the shots from the 50-megapixel rear camera of this two phones are simply good for an average user. Thy are clearer and detail, and the colours also look quite okay.
But for photo experts, or trained eyes, the shorts tend to be slightly over-exposed, and they seem to have a slight warm tint. But, you'll have to compare the shots (from these two phones) to those of other mid-range phones to notice these subtle flaws. And again, you have to be someone that pay attentions to such details.

The shots from the 50-megapixel Main rear camera of the least expensive Infinix Note 12i was surprisingly good too, the qualities was almost on par with those of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12. They are also clear and detail, with right and solid colours. But the Night shots from this camera is on the saturated or over-processed side.

And lastly, the 108-megapixel Main rear camera of the Note 12 VIP was able to take impressive pictures, more than all the rest. The pictures are more clearer and sharper than those of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12. Also, the photos are detail and have good contrast. However, sometimes you will need a good lighting conditions to get optimum result from this phone camera.
Furthermore, both Night Mode and Super Night Mode are also good too, but Super Night Mode seems to be slightly over-processed and exposed.

Meanwhile, all the 16-megapixel front-facing cameras of the Infinix Note 12 VIP, Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12 are capable of shooting 2K videos at 30fps (frame per second), but the video recording for the 8-megapixel selfie lens of the Note 12i is capped at 1080p at 30fps.
Though, all the Main rear cameras of the four phones are capable of shooting 2K videos. However, due to its higher megapixel sensor, the one the Note 12 VIP can shoot 2k videos at 60fps, while others can do so at 30fps.

infinix-note-12i-x6819.
Impressive Displays:
While other variants (of the Note 12) have the same screen size of 6.7-inch, Infinix Note 12i has a slightly bigger screen size of 6.82-inch. Also while the displays of others are fitted with AMOLED panels and feature 1080p resolutions, Note 12i display is fitted with an IPS-LCD panel, and features 720p resolution. The phone's 720p or HD+ resolution is made up of 1640-by-720 pixels (262ppi).

Though, the display of the Note 12i is not as beautiful as those of its siblings. Yet, except for the unusually better ones like that of the Tecno Camon 19, the IPS-LCD screen of the Note 12i (and that of the Hot 12) is one of the few nice looking displays you'll find at this price point, and in addition to the phone's all encompassing features.

Meanwhile, like those of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12, the 6.7-inch display of the Note 12 VIP also has an AMOLED panel. And it also features the same 1080p resolution of 2400x1080 (393ppi). Yet, the AMOLED panel on the VIP is of higher quality, when you compared it to those of the other two phones.
This doesn't mean that the AMOLED displays of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12 are not of good quality. Because the picture qualities of the AMOLED displays of these two phones are also quite impressive. They are bright, sharp and clear. Colours are rich and vivid. In fact, the displays of the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12 are more stunning, brighter and more vibrant than that of their predecessor, i.e, Infinix Note 11.

Still, the AMOLED display of the Note 12 VIP looks more impressive. This is not because it is more colourful or vibrant, it's because the screen looks more neat and clearer, and colours also look more realistic or natural. Though this screen brightness is not really on the high side, yet the brightness level is okay. Also, there is a good balance between brightness and contrast. Because dark scenes tend to be really dark, and bright scenes tend to be really bright, without overblown.
In addition to that, the phone's high screen refresh rate, which is lacking in other two variants, brings about smoother page scrolling and smoother gaming on the Note 12 VIP.

Processing Power, Software And Storage:
Talking about their processing power. And as expected, Infinix Note 12i is the least powerful of all the four phones. This is followed by the standard Note 12.
On the other hand, and despite that Infinix Note 12 VIP has a better design, a better display, and better rear cameras than the Note 12 G96, both of them have the same CPU, same RAM, and the same internal storage configuration.

In details, Both of the Note 12 VIP and Note 12 G96 are powered by the Helio G96 MediaTek proccessor (it's that obvious Note 12 G96 derives its name from the CPU).
Besides having the same processors, both of these phones also feature 8GB of RAMs and 256GB internal storage capacities (expandable to 1TB via SD card), though the base model of the Note 12 G96 has 128GB storage inbuilt.
Both of the Note 12 VIP and Note 12 G96 are also running on the Android 12 OS (Operating System) with the latest Infinix XOS 10.6 on top.

Also the 8GB of RAMs of each phone's can still be increased up to 13GB through MemFusion. MemFusion enables you to convert certain amount of your phone internal storage space to Virtual RAM. MemFusion allows you to convert up to 5GB of free space (out of the two phones 256GB inbuilt storage capacities) to RAM. Thereby allowing you to increase the 8GB of RAM of each phones up to 13GB.

And concerning both phones' performances, both of them were able to handle almost all tasks with ease. Even, many of the graphics demanding games played smoothly on these two phones. Still as a result of its high (120hz) screen refresh rate, gaming and page schrolling are more smoother on the Note 12 VIP. And its display also has an higher touch sampling rate; which makes the VIP to respond to touch quickly.

Meanwhile, as i mentioned earlier, the standard Infinix Note 12 is the same phone as the Note 11. Just like in its outward appearance, Infinix Note 12 is also equipped with the Helio G88 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB inbuilt storage as the earlier Note. In support of that also, out of all the variants of the Note 12, this standard variant is the only one that features the old Android 11 OS like the earlier Note 11.
Though like its siblings, the standard Note 12 still comes with latest XOS custom UI, and it also features MemFusion. Unlike those of the Note 12 VIP and Note 12 G96, you can only convert up to 3GB out of the standard Note 12 inbuilt storage to RAM. Therefore, through MemFusion, the 4GB RAM of the standard Note 12 can only be increased up to 7GB.

It should be re-emphasized that the only three things that differentiate standard Note 12 from the earlier Note 11 are MemFusion, latest version of Infinix XOS custom UI, and a slightly brighter and clearer display. Otherwise the standard Note 12 or Note 12 G88 is the same phone as the Note 11, this is why both of them have the same model number: X663.

And on the Infinix Note 12i internal configurations. Despite that it's the least expensive one, Infinix Note 12i is also running on the Android 12 OS like the Note 12 VIP and the Note 12 G96. And yet, the phone still retain the 4GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage of the standard Note 12. The phone's 4GB of RAM can also be increased up to 7GB though the MemFusion.
However, compared to the Helio G88 CPU that powered standard Note 12, Note 12i is fitted with a little less powerful Helio G85 CPU.

BATTERY: All come with 5000mAh batteries, except Note 12 VIP:
Firstly, it can be deduced from this write-up, that all the variants of the Infinix Note 12 come with USB Type-C ports. It can also be deduced that Note 12 VIP is the only one with least powerful battery (4,500mAh), yet it's the only one with highest fast charging.
In details, Infinix Note 12i has the lowest fast charging of 18W, while the Note 12 G96 and standard Note 12, on the other hand, retain the 33W fast charging of the earlier Note 11. However, Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with a staggering 120W fast charging.
By the way, with its out-of-the-box 120W fast charger, the 4,500mAh battery of the Note 12 VIP can be fully juiced back in about 21 minutes (in Furious Mode), when it drops to one percent.
