Though there are few others, but the main selling points of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro (kh7) are its premium and all-flat appearance, an attractive 1080p display, higher megapixel front and rear cameras, recent Android OS, USB Type-C port, and support for fast charging. However, the phone still has a regular 6.6-inch screen size.

By the way, Tecno Spark 9 Pro is the most equipped variant of the recently unveiled Tecno Spark 9 series. Others in the latest series are Tecno Spark 9 (kg5p) and Tecno Spark 9T (kh6).

Tecno Spark 9 (kg5p) is the standard variant in the latest series, and it's also the one with the lowest price. Tecno Spark 9T, on the other hand, attract a little higher price than the standard Spark 9. And it's because it shares features with both the standard variant and the better equipped Spark 9 Pro.
For instance, Tecno Spark 9T has the same clear-cut and all-flat appearance as the Spark 9 Pro. And it also features USB Type-C port and 32-megapixel front camera like the Pro variant. However, Tecno Spark 9T has the same CPU and the same primary rear camera as the standard Spark 9.
It should be noted that the Spark 9 Pro display does not support 90hz or higher screen refresh rate, like those of the Spark 9 and Spark 9T. Yet it is only the display of the Pro variant that features a Full-HD or 1080p resolution.

Meanwhile, the two major selling points of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro are its design and attractive display. Though the latest phone still has a 6.6-inch 1080p 60hz display like its predecessor i.e., Tecno Spark 8P (kg7h), and it also spotted an identical tear-drop notch, yet pictures and videos look more vivid on the latest phone's display. Colours also look more richer and vibrant.

Also because the phone sports a clear-cut and all-flat design, Tecno Spark 9 Pro looks more beautiful and sleeker than the earlier model. Firstly, unlike the Spark 8P that had curved edges and curved back cover, Tecno Spark 9 Pro has flat edges and flat back cover. Also instead of camera bump, what you have on the back of the latest phone is a pair of big, pretty, and neatly arranged circular camera module.

Talking about its cameras. Tecno Spark 9 Pro Pro maintain the 50-megapixel triple rear camera of its predecessor, however, the latest phone offers a more clearer 32-megapixel front-facing camera, compared to the 8-megapixel front camera of the earlier phone.

Besides having a more beautiful design, Tecno Spark 9 Pro also features USB Type-C port and support fast charging. But, the latest phone still maintain the 5000mAh battery of the earlier model. And it also has a side mounted fingerprint reader.

A major upgrades have also taken place under the hood. Though Tecno Spark 9 Pro still features 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage space like the earlier model. And the phone is also available in 6GB of RAM option (paired with the same 128GB storage). However, the amount of RAM on the latest phone for instance, 4GB, can be increased up to 7GB, through the recent RAM expansion feature called Memfusion.

Also compared to the Helio G35 CPU of its predecessor, Tecno Spark 9 Pro is equipped with a more stronger Helio G85 CPU. The latest phone is also running on a more recent Android 12 OS. And the phone is also pre-installed with the latest version of Tecno HiOS custom UI.
In short, the only two Cons of this phone is its lack of support for high screen refresh rate and single speaker.
Its should be recalled that the earlier model came with two speakers.

NOTE: Infinix Hot 12 (x6817) is fitted with two speakers and it support 90hz screen refresh rate. Yet, this Infinix phone still has the same CPU, same RAM and storage configurations as the Spark 9 Pro. The phone also has the same 5000mAh battery capacity, USB Type-C port, and 18W fast charging.

However, in spite of its slightly bigger size (6.82) and support for 90hz refresh rate, the display of the Hot 12 features a 720p resolution. Yet the picture quality of this screen is the same as that of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro, even Hot 12 screen seems slightly brighter.

Also, in spite of its low megapixel cameras, the pictures taken with the Hot 12 look almost the same with those of the Spark 9 Pro, except for the fact the ones from the Spark 9 Pro are slightly sharper. Which is as result of the phone's higher megapixel sensors.

Price And Colour Design:
Tecno Spark 9 Pro is available in various colour options of Burano Blue, Quantum Black, Glacier White, and Hacker Storm. Currently, the price of this phone is about 114,500 naira, which is for the 4GB/128GB variant. Because the 6GB/128GB variant is not available in this region.

Tecno Spark 9 Pro Is A Premium Looking Phone:
When you compare it to the earlier Spark 8P, and the prior models, Tecno Spark 9T offers a unique and distinct design. Because the phone sports a classy, clear-cut and all-flat appearance.
Though Tecno Spark 9 Pro comes in size and aspect ratio of the Spark 8P, and it also features the same 6.6-inch drop-notched display. But the latest phone has flat edges and flat back cover. And there's no camera bump on its back. As i said earlier, what you have on the back of the phone is a pair of big, neatly arranged, circular camera module.

tecno-spark-9-pro-kh7

Though the two circular modules look like camera sensors, but they are camera modules. And while the first module (or the upper one) houses the 50-megapixel primary rear camera of the latest phone, the lower module houses the other two rear cameras.

And in spite of their big sizes, the two camera modules look good on the Spark 9 Pro. They make the entire back of the phone to look more premium and elegant. Another thing that contribute to the latest phone's premium looks is its plain back cover; which also sports a combination of matte and glossy finish.
It should be noted that it's the combination of matte and glossy finish, that distinguished Tecno Spark 9 Pro from the Spark 9T. Otherwise both of them look almost identical.

Anyway, Tecno Spark 9 Pro maintain that the earlier phone's side mounted fingerprint reader. Which means the latest phone's power button also doubled as fingerprint reader. The arrangements of ports and buttons are also similar to those of the Spark 8P. In other words, Tecno Spark 9 Pro volume keys and power button (which doubles as fingerprint reader) are still located on the right edge, while its dual Nano SIM+SD Card slot (and tray) is located on the left edge.
And because the phone's single speaker, USB Type-C port, microphone, and 3.5mm audio jack, are also located on the bottom edge, there is nothing on the top edge of the Spark 9 Pro. It should also be noted that Spark 9 Pro also comes with one Screen flash like its predecessor.

High Megapixel Front And Rear Camera:
The triple rear camera of the Spark 9 Pro, like that of its predecessor, is made up of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel Depth sensor (for taking pictures with Bokeh effect or blur background), and a QVGA sensor (which assists the main camera in taking brighter pictures in low-light environments).
Yet, in spite of their identical rear camera set-up, the pictures from the latest phone look more clearer and better than the ones from the earlier model.

But, when you compare the shots from the rear camera of this phone, to those of others in this category, for instance Infinix Hot 12 (which even has a much lower 13-megapixel main sensor), the pictures from this Tecno phone are not impressive.
Though, as a result of its higher megapixel, the main rear sensor of the Spark 9 Pro was able to take a slightly more clearer pictures, but other attributes (of the photos) such as colours and HDR, even Night Mode, remain as those of the 13-megapxel main rear camera of the Hot 12.
The same thing can be said of the 32-megapixel front-facing camera of the Spark 9 Pro. Because, except for being slightly clearer, the selfies from the Tecno phone looks almost like those of the with 8-megapixel front camera of the Hot 12.

Meanwhile, as a result of its better CPU, both the front and rear cameras of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro are capable of shooting 2k videos at 30fps (frame per second), unlike those of its predecessor that are capped at 1080p. Still, like the earlier model, Tecno Spark 9 Pro doesn't come with Image Stabilization (OIS).

An Attractive 1080p Display:
As said earlier, and apart from its looks, the second selling point of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro is its display.
Though, the 6.6-inch drop-notched display of the Spark 9 Pro is also fitted with an IPS-LCD panel, like that of the Spark 8P. And it also features the same 1080p resolution of 2460x1080, or has the same pixel density (or sharpness) of 400ppi. This screen also doesn't support high refresh rate.
However, the screen of the Spark 9 Pro is more colourful, and it also has a better contrast than that of its predecessor. These make this screen to look more vivid and visually appealing than the earlier one.

But, like those of its siblings, i.e., Tecno Spark 9 and Spark 9T, the brightness level on the Spark 9 Pro display is not on the high side, which makes this phone not to be a best choice for outdoor usage, especially under direct sunlight.
It should be noted that if not for its 720p resolution or less sharpness, the screen on the Spark 9T is almost as colourful as that of the Spark 9 Pro.

Upgraded CPU, Latest Software, But Same RAM And Storage Configurations:
Though, the earlier Tecno Spark 8P, which was powered by Android 11 OS and Helio G35 CPU, might not be the fastest phone among its peers in its time, buy it's a smooth-running one. To ensure such smooth performance in the latest phone, which comes out-of-the-box with the recent Android 12 OS, Tecno equipped the phone with a more stronger Helio G85 CPU. Also running on top of the Android 12 OS is the latest version (8.6v) of Tecno HiOS custom UI. And it's as a result of the latest HiOS custom UI that the Quick Menu Panel of the Spark 9 Pro looks different from that of the Spark 8P.

The Helio G85 CPU of the latest chipset is also fitted with a more better Mali-G52 MC2 GPU (compared to the PowerVR-GE8320 GPU of the earlier phone). As a result, Tecno Spark 9 Pro offers better graphics performance than its predecessor, which in turn, means you'll experience a more pleasant gaming performance from the latest phone.
Furthermore, and despite that Tecno Spark 9 Pro also features 4GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage like its predecessor, yet as i mentioned earlier, the latest phone comes with the recent RAM expansion feature called Memfusion.

MemFusion enables you to convert certain amount of your phone internal storage space to Virtual RAM. In other words, and in case of 4GB of RAM variant of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro, MemFusion enables you to convert up to 3GB of free space (out of the phone's inbuilt storage) to RAM. Thereby, allowing you to increase the phone's 4GB RAM up to 7GB.
By the way, like that of its predecessor, the internal storage capacity (128GB) of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro, can also be expanded, up to 256GB, via microSD card.

Same Battery Capacity, But USB Type-C Port & 18W Fast Charging:
Though Tecno Spark 9 Pro retain the 5000mAh battery of the Spark 8P, but the microUSB port on the earlier phone has been replaced with a USB Type-C port. Also, compared to the earlier phone's standard 10W charging, Spark 9 Pro support 18W fast charging. Therefore, and with its out-of-the-box 18W fast charger, it'll take you about one hour forty five minutes to fully charge Tecno Spark 9 Pro battery when it drops to one percent.
