Of all the Apple iPhones, iPhone SE is the most affordable. The first generation of the iPhone Special Edition (SE) was introduced in the year 2016, and the model shared look and features with the iPhone 5S, though the SE has better cameras and processing power.

Meanwhile, the newly unveiled iPhone SE is the successor to the iPhone SE 2016. Which means the latest iPhone is the second generation of the low-cost Apple iPhone.

However, the year 2020 iPhone SE comes in the body of the previous iPhone 8. In other words, iPhone SE 2020 shares design, screen size, dimensions, even Touch ID, with the iPhone 8.
The new SE also comes with the same 12MP single-lens back camera as well as the same 7MP front-facing camera. iPhone SE 2020 also features the same storage configurations as the iPhone 8.

Still, iPhone SE 2020 packed the latest and more powerful A13 Bionic chipset, and it's also equipped with higher RAM. The cheap iPhone also packed some of the latest features that accompanied the recent iPhone 11 and iPhone XR.

iPhone SE 2020 Price:
Compared to the iPhone 11; which is another latest and affordable iPhone, iPhone SE attracts much lower price. The starting price of the 64GB variant of the iPhone SE is $399, while the same 64GB variant of the iPhone 11 costs about $699. This also shows that the base variant of the iPhone 11 is even more expensive than the 128GB and 256GB variant of the SE, which cost $449 and $549 respectively.

iPhone SE 2020 Shares Design And Features With iPhone 8:
iPhone SE 2020 is a replica of the iPhone 8, though somehow, the latest iPhone looks sleeker.
In details, iPhone SE features the same 4.7-inch display, the same 138.4x67.3x7.3mm dimensions and it also has the same 148g weight. The top and bottom bezels of the latest iPhone also look exactly like those of the iPhone 8.

Apple also returns the physical Home Button to the iPhone SE 2020. And the Home Button also serves as Touch ID or fingerprint sensor. Which means iPhone SE doesn't have Face ID, yet, like the iPhone 11 and XR, it features Haptic Touch. Haptic Touch replaces 3D Touch that came with the iPhone 8.

Like the iPhone 8, iPhone SE also features aluminum frame; placed in between the phone's glass front and back. The single-lens back camera of the new iPhone is also placed in a similar spot as that of the iPhone 8. However, the Apple logo that's found on the top back of the iPhone 8 has been moved to the centre back of the iPhone SE.

Though iPhone SE 2020 comes in different colour options of Product Red, White and Black, but irrespective of your choice of colour, the frontal part of the iPhone SE will still have Black colour.

Meanwhile, the arrangements of ports and buttons on the iPhone SE 2020 are still like those of the iPhone 8. Therefore, on the right edge of the iPhone SE is the power button, and below the power button is the SIM slot and tray; which can take a single Nano SIM card plus eSIM.

It should be noted that the iPhone SE variant that can accommodate two physical Nano SIMs are meant for the Chinese market and a few other regions.

Furthermore, on the left edge of the iPhone SE is the ring/silent button and volume rockers. And on the bottom edge of the phone is the usual lightning connector: for fast charging, transferring of data and connecting to Earpods (that comes with the phone).

And like the iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020 is also IP67 water resistance certified. Which means iPhone SE can survive inside water (of about 1 metre depth) for up to 30 minutes.

iPhone SE Features A Much Faster Processing Power:
Though iPhone SE shares looks and many other features with the earlier iPhone 8, yet the new iPhone is equipped with the latest and more powerful A13 Bionic chipset; a 7nm hexa-core processors, with the processing speeds of up to 2.65GHz. The chipset also features a 4-core GPU and 8-core dedicated Neural Engine.
Which also means iPhone SE shares chipset with the recent and more expensive iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Apart from having a more powerful chipset, the 2020 iPhone SE also features 3GB of RAM, which is also higher than the 2GB of RAM of the iPhone 8.

iPhone SE 2020 is peloaded with the latest iOS 13, though the earlier versions of the Apple iOS, that came with the likes of  iPhone 8, can be upgraded to the latest iOS. iPhone SE also has the same storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, like the earlier iPhone 8 and the recent iPhone 11.

Same 4.7-inch Retina Display:
Apart from the size, Apple still maintain other features of the iPhone 8's display on that of the SE. In other words, the 4.7-inch screen of the latest iPhone also features the same 16:9 aspect ratio, the same IPS-LED Retina panel and it also have the same 1334x750 resolution at a pixel density 326ppi.

Like that of the iPhone 8, the latest SE also features Wide Colour display (P3) and True Tone Display (TTD). True Tone automatically adjust the colour temperature and brightness of your iPhone's screen to match the ambient light of your surroundings.
And in spite of their IPS-LED panels, both iPhones' displays also support HDR formats such as Dolby Vision and HDR10.

However, instead of having 3D Touch like the iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020 features Haptic Touch; which is also found on the iPhone XR and the recent iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Haptic Touch gives you a quick access to many features on your iPhone. Among these is the quick access to camera and flash light when the screen is locked.

It should be noted that the iPhone SE's Retina display is different from the Liquid Retina display of the iPhone XR and iPhone 11. And despite that all the four displays have the same pixel density of 326ppi, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 displays will still be clearer.

Same Front And Rear Camera Megapixels:
Like that of the iPhone 8, the 12MP single back camera of the iPhone SE also has f/1.8 aperture, and it also features OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The single-lens camera is also capable of shooting 4K video at 60fps (frame per seconds) and 1080p slow motion video at 240fps.

However, unlike that of the iPhone 8, iPhone SE rear camera features Portrait Mode with support for Depth Control; which allows you to take portrait picture and also let you adjust or blur the background as you wish.
Nonetheless, almost all the other features of the iPhone 8's back camera are also present in that of the iPhone SE.

Apple also returns the same 7MP (f/2.2) front camera of the iPhone 8 to the latest SE. Though the latest camera features Portrait Mode and support QuickTake video, yet, it shares many other features with the one on the iPhone 8.

For instance, iPhone SE selfie camera also support Face-Time video and audio calling and it's still only capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. iPhone SE front camera also features auto HDR, Retina Flash, Wide Colour capture and Burst Mode like like that of the iPhone 8.

Though the cameras on the iPhone SE and iPhone 8 are equipped with the same megapixels and the same aperture sizes, nonetheless, due to the presence of the latest A13 Bionic chipset inside the iPhone SE and its picture enhancements features such as Smart HDR, you should expect a clearer and more detailed image from the picture taken with the cameras of the iPhone SE.

Same Unimpressive Battery Live:
Despite its smaller screen, iPhone SE 2020 battery life is much shorter than those of the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, because the low-cost iPhone is fitted with a lesser 1,821mAh battery capacity, which is the same as that of the iPhone 8. Apple also says that on a single charge, iPhone 8 and iPhone SE batteries will last for almost the same time.
And like the iPhone 8 and other recent iPhones, iPhone SE 2020 support Qi wireless charging and 18W fast charging.
