The recently unveiled Moto E6 Plus has a more trendy look and better features than its predecessor i.e., Moto E5 Plus. And it's the new look (and features) that distinguish Moto E6 Plus from all the previous models of the Moto E series.

For instance, Motorola E6 Play, which was released alongside the Moto E6 Plus, still maintain the dated design that's peculiar to the Moto E Series phones.
But unlike the Moto E6 Play and others, Moto E6 Plus features a notched display, dual-lens back camera and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The phone also has a better 8-MP selfie camera and it also present the buyers with another variant with higher 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage. Though, the base variant of the latest phone still features 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage space like the Moto E6 Play.

Meanwhile, unlike its predecessor (Moto E5 Plus) that features 5000mAh battery, Motorola equipped the Moto E6 Plus with a lesser 3000mAh battery, and it's the same 3000mAh removable battery that came with the Moto E6 and Moto E6 Play.

Verdict: The Motorola Moto E6 Plus is a budget smartphone, it has an attractive design with a good built quality, in fact, it's splash resistant certified. My only concern is its unimpressive 3000mAh battery capacity, compare to the 5000mAh battery of the previous Moto E5 Plus.

Meanwhile, the price of the 2GB/32GB variant of the Moto E6 Plus is N47,000 (£99/$129/GHs680/KSh12,949) while the 4GB RAM/64GB ROM variant of the new phone costs about N59,500 (£127/$164/GHs873/Ksh16,608)

Trendy Design and Features:
Aside from being bigger, the 6.1-inch screen of the Moto E6 Plus is also narrower, which has to do with the phone's 19.5:9 screen aspect ratio (compared to the 18:9 aspect ratio of the previous E series displays).

Furthermore, the 6.1-inch screen is also adorned with thin bezels, curved edges and a small Dot-notch; which houses the phone's 8-MP front facing camera.
Yet, the pretty looking Moto E6 Plus' display still comes with a slightly thick chin (bottom bezel).

Flip the Moto E6 Plus over, you'll be confronted with the phone's dual back camera; located at the top left corner. And these two cameras are also placed, and arranged in a vertical manner, inside a camera module. Meanwhile, directly below the camera module is the phone's LED Flash.

Like the earlier models, Moto E6 Plus is also fitted with a rear mounted fingerprint reader, and the location of the scanner is also similar to those of those phones (close the top centre).
And as usual, the initial M of the mobile phone company is also engraved inside the fingerprint sensor.

The phone's volume rockers and power button are placed on its right edge, while the speaker, microUSB port and microphone are located on the bottom edge.
And the 3.5mm audio jack is found on the top edge of the Moto E6 Plus.

By the way, there is nothing on its left edge, because Moto E6 Plus doesn't have the popular hybrid SIM tray slot, you'll have to remove the back cover before you can have access to the microSD and SIM card slots, just like in the previous generation smartphones.

Meanwhile Moto E6 Plus backing is made of polycarbonate (glossy) material, and phone also comes in colour options of Polish Graphite (Silver) and Black Cherry (Red)

6.1-Inch HD+ Notched-Display:
As expected of the phone within this price range, the 6.1-inch screen of the Moto E6 Plus features an IPS-LCD panel, and it also has an HD+ resolution of 1560x720 and a pixel density of 282ppi.

Though despite having the same 720p resolution as the Moto E6 Plus display, the 6.0-inch screen of the previous Moto E5 Plus is slightly less sharper than that of the Moto E6 Plus. And this is due to the slightly lower pixel density (268ppi) of the previous phone's display.

Better Selfie Lens And Dual Back Camera:
For a more pleasant selfie experience, Moto E6 Plus comes with a better 8-MP (f/2.0) front facing camera, instead of the usual 5-MP selfie lens that used to come with Moto E series phones. And for its security enhancements, Moto E6 Plus also features Face Unlock, in addition to the fingerprint sensor.
Out of all the Moto E series, Moto E6 Plus is the first to feature dual back camera. And while the first camera is made up of 13-MP (f/2.0) Main lens, the second camera is made up of 2-MP Depth Sensing lens, for your portrait shots or pictures with Bokeh effects.

Motorola Moto E6 Plus Is Powered By The Mediatek P22 chipset And It's Running On The Android 9 Pie O.S.:
Instead of having Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset like the Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and the recent Moto E6, Moto E6 Plus features a Mediatek processor.

And it should be noted that Motorola re-introduced the Mediatek chipset to its Moto E series phones in its recent Moto E6 Play. However, unlike the Moto E6 Play that's equipped with the low-level Mediatek MT6739 processor, Moto E6 Plus sports a better Helio P22 (MT6762) chipset; which is an octa-core processor, with a maximum clock speed of 2.0GHz.

It should also be emphasized that the Moto E6 Plus' Helio P22 processor has a slightly better processing power than the Qualcomm SD425 cpu of the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus respectively. Nonetheless, the Helio P22 performance should be on par with that of the Moto E6's Qualcomm SD435 processor, which is also an octa-core processor.
Meanwhile, for its GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), Motorola Moto E6 Plus is fitted with the PowerVR GE8320.

Furthermore, Motorola equipped the base variant of the Moto E6 Plus with 2GB of RAM, which is less than 3GB of RAM of the Moto E5 Plus. Nonetheless, Moto E6 Plus still comes with the 32GB internal storage capacity as the Moto E5 Plus.

Unlike any of its siblings, however, Moto E6 Plus has another variant that is equipped with an higher RAM of 4GB and 64GB internal storage space.
Irrespective of your choice of variant, Moto E6 Plus built-in storage can be expanded through microSD of up 512GB.

3000mAh Battery Is Not Really Enough:
Though, i really like the idea of user removable battery of the Moto E6 Plus, but like i said earlier, the main issue i have with the phone is its unimpressive 3000mAh battery, which also came with the previous Moto E6 and the recent Moto E6 Play.

I wonder why Motorola would put the same 3000mAh in a such a pretty looking phone, that also has a bigger screen and slightly better processing power. If the mobile phone company can't bring back the 5000mAh battery of the Moto E5 Plus, it should, at least, increase the battery capacity to 3500mAh, in the Moto E6 Plus.
