ITEL A56.
A56 is a recently introduced low cost smartphone from the Itel Mobile, therefore, it is equipped with the basic specs such as an entry-level Unisoc chipset, FWVGA+ display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage and support for only 3G network.
But despite that Itel A56 is the latest model of the A series and the successor to the 2019's A55, Itel still returns almost all the features of the earlier phone to the A56. In other words, and apart from their identical design, the new phone also features 6.0-inch display, Unisoc SC7731E chipset, 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage capacity, like the earlier model.
One thing that gives the latest phone an edge over the previous A55 is its huge 4000mAh battery capacity.
The latest phone also has a Pro variant which features 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage capacity.
But, despite its better battery capacity, Itel A56 comes with a lower 5MP front camera, instead of 8MP selfie lens that's found on the front of the Itel A55.
Meanwhile, Itel A56 is available at an affordable price of 30,000 naira, while the Pro variant attract a little higher price of 35,000 Naira.
ITEL A56 DESIGN:
Design-wise, Itel A56 has exact look or dated design of the Itel A55, though this is expected of a low cost smartphones in this segment.
Therefore, compared to other recent midrange and budget smartphones, Itel A56 appear wider, which is due to its 18:9 aspect ratio. And the thick bezels, at the top and bottom of the phone's display, also contribute to its conventional look.
Meanwhile, Itel A56 has a plastic frame and back cover like the earlier model, and the phone's dual-lens back camera (and LED flash) are also placed, in a vertical manner, on the top left side. The fingerprint reader is also located at the top centre back of the phone, next to the camera module.
The phone's volume rockers and power button are placed on its left edge, while the 3.5mm audio jack is located on the top edge.
And you'll find only MicroUSB port and microphone on the bottom edge of the A56, as the phone's speaker is located towards the bottom end of its back cover, right below Itel branding.
Itel A56 comes with 159.7x77.7x8.9mm dimensions, which shows that the new phone is slightly less thicker than the A55; which has dimensions of 158.7x74x9.3mm. But compared to 133g weight of Itel A55, A56 has an heavier weight of 164g; which may be due to its bigger battery capacity.
Meanwhile, Itel A56 comes in two colour options of gradation blue and black.
Processing Power, RAM and Storage:
Like its predecessor, 56 is powered by the Unisoc (Spreadtrum) SC7731E chipset; A Cortex-A7 processor with quad-core CPUs and a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. For the graphics related tasks, Unisoc SC7731E is embedded with Mali-T820 MP1 GPU.
Also, like its predecessor, Itel A56 is running on the Go Edition of the Android 9 O.S; a stripped down version of the Android 9 (Pie), which is specifically developed for low RAM phones.
Although, as i mentioned earlier, there is a 2GB/32GB variant of Itel A56, the base variant of the A56 is still equipped with 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage like its predecessor. And the phone's internal storage can also be expanded, up to 64GB, via MicroSD card.
Same dual-lens but lower megapixels Selfie lens:
Apart from having dual-lens back camera like the earlier model, the two rear cameras of the latest phone are also made up of 8MP Main lens and a QVGA lens.
But, instead of having 8MP front camera like the previous phone, Itel A56 features a lower 5MP selfie lens. Therefore, the earlier Itel phone has a tendency of delivering a better Selfie picture than the latest Itel A56.
In other words, and as a result of its 960x480 pixels, the display of the Itel phone has a pixel density of 179ppi. And a pixel density of 179ppi on a 6.0-inch display implies that the images and texts on such screen will, somehow, look blur.
Also, unlike the Itel A55 that's fitted with an unimpressive 2900mAh battery, Itel A56 packed a stronger battery capacity of 4000mAh, in order to ensure your phone last much longer on a single charging. The lower resolution of the Itel A56 display will also have a positive effect on the phone's battery life.
